Memory foam mattresses are known for their ability to provide comfort and pain relief. Because the polyurethane material adapts to body heat, it will conform to a sleeper’s body instead of creating resistance along pressure points. By using foam with different densities, manufacturers are able to create firm mattresses as well as medium-firm and plush options. Many modern foam mattresses are gel-infused to prevent overheating.
For those who suffer from back pain and lower back pain, a memory foam mattress could help alleviate that pain. By contouring to the body, memory foam improves blood circulation throughout the body. Latex mattresses are similar to foam but the material is a natural rubber. Most latex mattresses are made from a latex blend. Plant-sourced latex is known for being firmer than memory foam but they are also very durable. This is not a good choice for people with a latex allergy.
A hybrid mattress is just what you’d expect: it’s a combination of a memory foam and innerspring mattress types. By using the support of an innerspring with the comfort of memory foam, users get the best of both worlds.
In a hybrid mattress there is a steel coil support system beneath a layer of memory foam padding.
